Made wrestling great again
Last April I suffered a knee injury playing squash which required surgery and subsequently a number of weeks off work in recovery. Whilst I was off work, I was flicking through the sky sports channels and I came across WWE, something I hadn't watched in over a decade. I decided to give it a go and see who was still there, who'd gone and who the new stars were. Most of my childhood favourites were sadly nowhere to be seen so I looked up online to see where the likes of HBK, stone cold Steve Austin and the rock had gone. I saw that stone cold had a wrestling podcast so I promptly went on over to iTunes to type in 'wrestling podcast' and came across gorilla position. I was a casual listener to GP to begin with, but the more I listened the more I grew to love the WWE product. The weekly show analysis, the hall of shame, skillits random question and all other segments of the show have become crucial (have a drink) and essential weekly listening. My Thursday morning drive to work wouldn't be the same without gorilla position. The passion and the The way in which James and the team break down the current product, the state of wrestling, the fantasy booking and the honest summaries of all things wwe have made me re-discover my childhood love of wrestling. I had the pleasure of meeting a couple of the guys at the uk tournament in my home town of Blackpool this January and they were approachable and passionate about what they do. Gorilla position is a must listen for any wwe fan, and with their hard work bringing us the their documentary on the women of WWE, they have brought in a whole new audience to WWE. I strongly recommend everyone gives this podcast a listen, give the guys a follow and twitter and don't forget to say hello to ash. James law.Read full review »
