He teaches that we must make Jesus our Lord, while the Bible teaches that Jesus objectively is our Lord. MacArthur teaches that we must keep God's good favor through our works but disguises this by calling it assurance rather than salvation. He teaches a subtle works based righteousness that is poison to the soul. Don't read Slave by MacArthur, read Concerning Christian Liberty by Luther. Don't read The Gospel According to Jesus by MacArthur, read Luther's commentary on Galatians.
