great show
This is an excellent podcast that presents a complicated, critical, and appreciative view of the southern US. It does a pretty good job of linking food to larger social issues, such as race relations, economic inequality, and immigration. The academic side of the podcast tends to be a little dumbed-down, although I find something enlightening in each episode. In all, Gravy is a valuable show for its fresh and curious approach to the south--a real treasure!

More reviews of Gravy
I used to look forward to the next drop of Gravy Podcast. (Pun intended). Now every episode seems to be not about food per se but about the downtrodden and quite frankly I don’t care to listen to that. At least not every podcast. The last few months have been nothing I want to listen to.

I am a food nerd with ties to the south who loves history and storytelling. So thank you for basically creating a podcast that is tailored for me! The only problem is how often it makes me hungry 😊

Who would have thought that a podcast that mixes history and food would be so interesting.
