Ep. 27 Traceability and it's link to sustainability with GS1
Listen now
Description
How do you know where your food and consumer items come from? How can we be sure of the provenance of an item? In this episode we talk to Mike Byrne, CEO of GS1 all about traceability in supply chain. GS1 is responsible for millions of checkout 'beeps' every day. They help to ensure that companies and consumers can be sure of where an item comes from. Barcodes on products provide the link between an item and information about it. GS1 uses unique codes distinguish all products, logistics units, locations, assets and relationships across the supply chain from manufacturer to consumer.
