Ep. 54 Castleknock Climate Action Group
Listen now
Description
Meet Patricia Sheehan, a member of the Castleknock Climate Action Group (Aka Tidy Towns). Patricia talks to us all about the plans for the group and what they've been up to in the last 12 months or so. We discuss the Global Action Plan Challenge - Climate Heroes and how your community group can get involved. Patricia has lots of ideas and advice on how to engage the community and there are some real nuggets in here about connecting with people that could be useful for anyone looking to make local or neighbourhood changes. Patricia has a professional background in change management and training from working in pharmaceuticals. She has really used this experience in her previous career to help change hearts and minds. The community reuse and exchange group has saved over 6000 items from landfill in the last 18 months. One of her top tips is to Rethink and ReChoose - you are the citizen with a choice not just a consumer. She suggests checking out the website Circular Living for groups near you that swap and sell items. For more info check out Castleknock group website.
