Fun, deep, very British
I love this podcast, partly because these are dedicated, knowledgable guitar nerds who talk about all the right things regarding guitars, pedals, and amps, of course, but also guitar minutiae, playing attitude, the general guitar universe (i.e., Gilmour's black start auction, etc.). They are also funny and well recorded, which is important when you're trying to remember all the differences betwee American and British English (Fevva = Feather) and some of the slight differences in slang terms (mucking with = trolling). My only fairly slight criticism is this: A whammy bar is a vibrato, not a tremolo. Vibrato describes a variation in pitch, temolo describes a variation in volume (such as on an amp or a pedal). So on the guitar, whether with the wang bar or your fretting hand, it's a vibrato, on the floor (amp, pedal) it's a tremolo. I must now delve into all the past episodes. Well done!Read full review »
