More infomercial than it should be
Let me start by saying I am Pro-2nd Amendment. I want to love this show. After listening for a year now, I am frustrated with the show. Each week Tom spends 3 hours telling us about threats to our rights and occasionally interviewing someone who has been in a shooting situation and prevailed. The show is well produced and has good sound quality. However, when telling us about the new and greatest "toys," Tom really only ever talks to his paying sponsors. They give their spiel on why they make the greatest product. Usually, somewhere in the interview, there’s a "but wait, there's more" moment where the interviewee offers Tom's listeners a deal. How about some reviews of products that aren't paying sponsors? Just an intelligent (non-internet-forum) review of a good product by a knowledgeable gun-person? And/or interview small companies that have potential but not an advertising budget. Listen to the SHOT Show 2010 episodes. The show that's too big to describe, yet Tom only interviews his sponsors. Tom is fair and informative with all his callers. He welcomes callers from all parts of the US and doesn't mind a few oddball callers from time to time. He gets great interviews and has great comments current events. Tom really is on the pulse of the gun industry.Read full review »

Tom is very knowledgeable and really keeps a thumb on current events relating to gun rights. This is my favorite show to listen to due to the various topics and info for beginners and longtime gun enthusiasts alike.
