Chatty and informative with evocative scene setting
Hannah and Erik have a natural rapport that is welcoming to listeners and the information they share is varied and engaging, and most of all, always includes valuable take aways. From birding hotspots, bird banding, bird walks, interviews with birding world personalities and intel on birding festivals, each episode offers meaningful content to me, an already seasoned birder! These two have much to offer anyone wanting to dip a toe in too, in addition to the birder converts already listening. They explain terms and techniques and ask good questions of their guests. The two highlights I’m noticing of this podcast are how well Hannah and Erik create a scene of where they birded (you feel like you’re there with them), and on an entirely different note, they address head-on the need for inclusion in birding, and invite guests who speak to this. Now that they’re settled in OR running a hotel, Building a face time community, I hope they keep up this audio community building effort too!

As an avid birder myself, and general adventurer, I appreciate the focus not just on the birds but on the search itself. That’s the joy of birding really and that’s what is showcased so well in this podcast. I can’t wait to hear more!
