“It’s very stripped down. Just Jennette talking into a mic about her feelings and how she deals with them. Sounds very straightforward, even…. basic. But Jennette is so smart, so fearless in her exploration, so willing to reveal to herself and her audience all the layers of experience and perception and processing, that the podcast is like a very intimate but rich and multi-dimensional journey. It’s also weirdly fun. Not that McCurdy is doing this to entertain us, but more like: there’s so much pleasure in being brought into this honest and searching exploration of something, even if that something is a hard feeling. I’m a fan of this show!”
