UBI
Just finished listening to the PodCast about UBI and want to say that if your guests are worried about what the Dean finds out about they should worry about the fact he might find out that these people couldn't hold their own in a discussion with students from a community college on the topic. The snobbery and classism was just stunning. At one point one of them mentions that others were approaching the idea from a "professional class" mindset, saying that "People like us value work" suggesting that working class folks don't value work like we do. If any of them had taken the time to look at any of the research that has already been done on the topic they would never have wasted our time trodding out the usual pablum. I expected more from a Podcast originating at a prestigious University. I have no problem with people who have a well thought out and informed intellectual disagreement with the concept of UBI. In fact, I seek out opportunities to hear them out. I have a real problem with people who represent themselves as authorities and who had no more understanding of the concept than any old schmo that you could have grabbed off the street. Anyone who really knew anything about UBI would have eaten their lunch. I suggest that you tell your guests that, in the future, they would do well to start such a program with a disclaimer; Something like, we are going to spend the next 30 minutes of your life discussing a subject that we know nothing about, but will act as though we are authorities. You may wish to listen to a high school debate on the subject if you wish to actually learn something.Read full review »

I’ve been loving this show since I first started listening. The three professors have a great rapport. The banter is witty and informative. The show topics are timely. Keep it up!
