Welcome back! Here's another short episode that I would like share about how my perspective changed about 'random acts of kindness'.
A few years ago, I participated in this 30-days happiness challenge and one of my favorite one was Day 6 challenge which is “Perform five acts of kindness and see how you feel” and I realized that even doing kindness can become "mindless" because your heart is not really into doing it... you're just doing it out of a dare or perhaps you want to feel good about yourself.
This experience has taught me to go above & beyond whenever I intend to do something good. This also applies in acts of worship! Subhan Allah. If I have the strength & the resources to do extra charity, or another day of fasting, or another set of prayers, why not do it? :)
What I also realized from this experience is that kind and inspiring words are very rare to come by nowadays. Most of us are super busy with our own stuff, with our own things, and with our own issues that we never get the chance to say "Hi friend, how are you? You know I'm here for you, alright?" I think that this will be a good habit to develop & implement everyday so InshaAllah I will continue to say kind words to other people especially when they least expected it.
