Dear Todd, thank you for telling this tragic, complicated & heartbreaking 💔 story with absolute & genuine compassion. Life is a difficult & often overly cruel place for some, and no doubt less than ideal decisions are made when people are vulnerable, desperate & isolated. Your non...Read full review »

The host seems too sympathetic towards a mother who did little to NOTHING to find her missing children. It seemed a bit Naive?

This was the best Podcast I have ever listened to. I am heartbroken about Todd’s passing. He was truly a hero for this family, and so many more with his database creation. I pray this family can begin to break generational curses that have separated them for so long.

My first podcast was STown, which in podcast years was a very long time ago. In between that podcast and this one there have been many good and bad shows. This one is the best! At first I thought Todd, the narrator and driving force in the narrative, was leaning a little too hard on his accent....Read full review »

A story with twists and turns- I knew Suzie’s story precocious to this podcast , but had no idea how many more layers there were to this story. One thing: Steve’s girlfriend is overbearing - but as the saying goes “men marry their mothers”. His adopted mother is just the same. Let the guy speak...Read full review »

This podcast had my full attention from start to finish. It was difficult knowing one day it would be over but devastating when we learned of Todd’s fate. His genuine and natural kindness was palpable and was felt when listening to his soft voice and southern drawl. I enjoyed hearing him talk...Read full review »

I loved listening to the hosts voice - such a great accent! Really interesting story - but there’s a shock at the end which you may or may not already know about. I highly recommend listening.

This is a fantastic show! I have enjoyed listening to it unfold; the storytelling, involvement of family, investigation - the ultimate trifecta in podcasts!! Now, for the unsure part. I feel like Mary is maybe trying to keep hidden maybe some lies she told Steve about the day they got him. Not...Read full review »

This is a dark, bittersweet, and complex podcast. It began one way, and ended in another. Life, the most personal things that we need to resolve, and love, questioning what resolution is, and love, the messy ugly, unsatisfactory parts, and love unwanted ends and love.Thank you Steve. Todd is a gem and I’ve loved every minute of this podcast. What an absolute shock when I got to episode 11. I listened to the first bonus episode just now and was genuinely moved; it was very touching. My condolences to the family.

The podcast is fantastic. The story involves many people in various branches of the same family and the saga that ensues. It’s impossible to pull away from it, and the host Todd, his voice is like southern butter. From the first words he speaks, you just fall in love with him immediately. I...Read full review »

As someone who has an adopted sister I know how difficult reunions can be. By bypassing his adoptive family his sisters made a mistake. They should have included his adoptive mother in their plans. They acted in their own interest not his. Unforgivable….

This was/is a compelling and sad story of a man with a lost family and identity and an amazingly inspiring story another man with a beautiful soul. My heart goes out to both of them and their families. They have both touched me, deeply.

Good story but too many ads. Also the narrator was too pushy in trying to get the family together. Great work in his career! Sorry to hear of his death. Condolences to his family and friends.

This is a stellar podcast; it’s more a documentary. Todd reveals every layer of the story in the most profound way. He was an amazing storyteller. Do not miss this podcast.

Wow, talk about taking a turn at the end. This was so good but so heartbreaking. I had never even heard of this guy but his legacy sites are mentioned in every true crime podcast and every police procedural show. To then realize I was only learning about him after he died…just so sad.

I haven’t had a podcast make me cry until this one. Todd Matthews is a remarkable human being and though the story he focuses on in this podcast is fascinating, I left feeling like he and his story was even more incredible.

I am an adoptee. I found this story incredible. Like Todd, I’m also from the south (not quite as Deep South as Todd 😊) and loved listening to him each week.
