Week 18: Session 1 (Matthew's Gospel)
Listen now
Description
Matthew’s opening verse makes it very clear what this book is about: Jesus, the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham. The rest of this Gospel presents evidence of who Jesus is: God incarnate, the Father’s beloved Son, living among men. The king, declaring that the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Mark records Jesus’ life: His miracles, betrayal, death, resurrection, and commission. However, Mark’s Gospel is very brief and focuses more on things Jesus did than things Jesus said. Luke’s Gospel is the longest book in the New Testament. Being a detailed historian who researched everything, Luke tells Jesus’ story in extensive detail, more than any other Gospel.
