“Though I have found season 3 to be fascinating, I also have to recognize that the investigative journalism in this case seems so irresponsible. One incident that sticks out in my mind is James saying to the source “Z” the REAL NAME of another source (Skylar) whose identity was supposed to be protected to establish the validity of Z’s claims. They also include many unnecessary details that “anonymous” sources divulge to James that would easily identify the source (i.e. dates they were incarcerated, the names of other people present when they were at a certain location, etc.). They seem to be putting a lot of their sources in danger without a care in the world. James’s juvenile posturing and holier-than-thou attitude really peak towards the end of the season and put a bad taste in my mouth after finishing the season. I hope that they really work hard on their ethics and professionalism before season 4.”
