PATREON EXCLUSIVE During WWII the Navy used blimps for patrolling the coast and cargo shipment to ships in the middle of the ocean. In 1942, a blimp performing routine patrol off the coast of San Francisco mysteriously lost its crew and flew around aimlessly before crashing on land several miles away from where it took off. Neither of the two crewmen nor any trace of them were ever found.
