“If you're a fan of the more formal, technical, interview-centred philosophy podcasts like Philosophy Bites or Elucidations, then you may find this slicker and way more sonically varied offering a little lacking in meat, but hang in there. The project here seems to be to uncover the serious philosophical content in what all kinds of folks are doing and living out there in the world, balancing entertaining stories - with a bevy of secondary voices - against heavy conceptual breakdowns. It's not rubbish. It actually works in an important sense - important to us in our day and age - in that it skilfully lays out the ways in which everybody uses philosophy everyday in order to simply lived. It tracks philosophy from practice on the ground into governmental policy, scientific study, cultural currency. Philosophy should not be seen - or practiced - as an elite pursuit, and this is an important contribution, and will be as long as it doesn't dilute its real thinking too thinly into its agreeable surface.”Read full review »
