Like a History Channel Show
Heard about this through the Revolutions podcast with Mike Duncan, so I listened to the first few episodes of RLTD. Not to my taste. The hosts have good voices and read well, but switching back and forth between them can confuse when they are doing a dramatic bit, and the pacing generally feels a bit stilted, like the read the script in different rooms and an editor spliced it together into 'banter'. The show is also focused on the most lurid details, which I guess should be expected of a half-hour show about tragic deaths, but the context is generally left to the bare minimum. Listen to it if you're familiar with the subject already, and you just want to hear a fairly well-told story about how that person snuffed it, not if you actually want to learn about their remarkable life.Read full review »

Feel like I'm listening to bios for dummies with God awful voice reenactments. Good concept but the execution falls short.Read full review »

Not good, uses poor recreations instead of archive material. Just listened to Harvey Milk episode, tons of archive available, none used. Actor does a mundane reading of one of the great orators. Silly.

The best history podcast period; especially if you enjoy biographies. The hosts are fabulous.
