I have only just found this great podcast. Superb historical detail, from a slightly different angle.

Harris, Haig, and Cromwell were all butchers. Sometimes a society needs such men in times of war, but it doesn’t obviate the fact that they were butchers, every one.

This is a fantastic podcast for all students of history. The research is thorough and the questions are tough. Please continue doing this work!

If only the left wing woke hate mob with their imported ignorance of history and cancel culture xenophobia toward British culture would listen and learn.

This young man, Stephen Edgington, is one of the best interviewers around. He’s got great guests and he’s not afraid to challenge them when he disagrees Keep it up

Pathetic concept. Aged historians desperately clinging to outdated study of history. Click bait ‘anti-woke’ nonsense

Really enjoyed this series. I found out a lot more about Churchill and in particular Bomber Harris. We shouldn't be trying to re-write our history!Read full review »

Impressive discussion with detailed evidence to support the defence. The Clive of India part was particularly well done - Simon Schama well and truly put in his place for an unjustified critique of a great self made man of the 18th century. Less convincing was the defence of Bomber Harris. Why...Read full review »

Jeremy Black’s defence of Harris was superb. Enjoying this podcast about complicated human beings who were working in difficult times that we in 21st century have limited “lived experience” of. Who amongst us could hand on heart say we would do better? Good to see them viewed from all angles and the context of the times highlighted

No mention of the Boer? I was actually expecting something to defend Churchill. I think this has pushed me to dislike him more.

A must listen for the younger generation who are bombarded with inaccuracies by the woke crowd.

Thank goodness somebody is finely asking the questions and challenging the narratives people in every day life can no longer challenge. Great job!

Really informative. A great snapshot of Churchill to counter the current noisy trend to destroy his reputation. The podcast is just long enough - and should inspire us to delve back into our history books.
