Was hesitant at first but loved it from the start
I just started History of the Germans the other week quite reluctantly but I’ve been plowing through it. German history seemed so much more atomized and consulted compared to English or French history. But Dirk is an amazing host who presents the history in a streamlined easily digestible fashion and a great, dry Germanic sense of humor that pops up from time to time and makes it even more of a delight to listen to. I highly recommend.

...but I can add that this is an auditory pleasure due to both the excellent content and the well-spoken Dirk H-B—in contrast to the sad current crop of citizen podcaster ramblings full of stuttering, stammering and suchlike disfluencies.
