Finally
As an avid listener of history podcasts, I am always surprised how entertaining and well researched history can be presented. Take History That Doesn’t Suck by Greg Jackson e.g. German history up to now lacked the entertainment aspect completely, probably because if something is gun, we Germans instinctively suspect that it’s useless. FINALLY this podcast comes around, and lo and behold, it IS well researched and fun to listen to. With the pace it’s going now (54 years in 8 episodes), it will take about 159 episodes to get to 1990 - so at least 3 years if fun ahead.

More reviews of History of the Germans
I’ve just listened to episode one. It was a very informative episode. I’ve been interested in german history since forty years, and I learned a lot new here. I read german and this was the absolutely best about this era in english! Five stars! Or ten!

So happy to have found this podcast in its infancy! Excited to get to the 16th-18th century

Such a great show. I am a lover of German history so I would probably find this podcast great anyway but the host is a wealth of information presented in an engaging way. Funny and ironic without being cheesy.
