“I'm partial to Aziz and Ashaya because they were the first ASOIAF podcast I found after finishing Dance. You always remember your first... <3. But seriously, they introduced me to two other phenomenal podcasts, who in turn introduced me to another one. So I'll always have a lot of love.
All of the episodes on this new channel are adequately edited, so no point to deduct stars for the quality because that's solved.
They're both incredibly knowledgeable about the series, so pretty much everything you hear on the podcast can be substantiated with textual evidence. No second guessing needed (though I'm sure it's encouraged, because they love interaction!).
If you like the TV show, I find the show only reviews absolutely fascinating. Special guest Sean of House Beard is one cool cat, and brings an interesting perspective to a podcast that looks at the show from a book perspective most of the time.
Some people might not enjoy the "unscripted" sections of the podcast, but honestly if you're trying to get into someone's mind about complex details, it's better to not sound robotic. Especially on these long podcasts, I think it's much more satisfying to listen to a legitimate conversation than hear a 90-120 minute speech.
Give History of Westeros a try, and you shan't be disappointed.”Read full review »
