Filling a gap
History podcasts tend to be either dry as dust chronologies of battles and leaders, or collections of interesting but random stories. HTDS hits it right on the head by focsing on the interesting stories, but then providing the context needed to make sense of it and fit it into a broader narrative.

As a history buff, I love a good story. Professor Jackson knows how to tell one so that it is not only very entertaining, but also educational. I learn new things everytime I listen. I look forward to new episodes. These podcasts are funny and enjoyable!

This is the absolute best history podcast out there. I wish I would have found this sooner but I’m enjoying catching up. It’s made for great listening and it’s so good I barely have turned my tv on in over 3 weeks!
