Very eclectic
What I enjoy most about this podcast is the fact that the proprietor will answer listener questions about very disparate historical topics; I'm learning about things I had never previously considered, such as the role of camels in the American West. Also enjoyable are the interviews with various historians who have interesting and heterodox views, such as the role of divine providence in the shaping of American history. I'm also a fan of the wide variation in episode lengths. It leads me to believe that the time is adjusted to fit the material, rather than the other way around.Read full review »

Scott is a terrific narrator and I love his shorter Q&A episodes. I listen to them on my bike ride to the gym!
