“I suggest listening to the entire series from the first show. Hartman has had some really interesting speakers on; some of my personal favorites include the episodes on No-GMO, the economic hitman, the adrenal-rush-self-defense and the global sex trafficking. I've also enjoyed the storable foods shows.
The host will often play "devil's advocate", in an effort to have a more well rounded conversation, and encourage the speakers and audience to consider the topics from different perspectives. Sometimes this helps the dialogue, but in several episodes Hartman allows the conversation to get off on a long tangent; with Hartman leading the speakers away from the topic or allowing the speaker to take over the dialogue with a rant. This often results in a very disappointing interview (#44 for example). This said, most of the shows are still worth a listen.
I really only give this great show four stars instead of the full five because of the regular self-promotion throughout most of the episodes. The host, Jason Hartman, is apparently a successful real estate investor and uses this forum to plug his real estate company via mid-show and end-of-show commercials. I find the regular plugs to be annoying.
All things considered, Hartman is doing a good job and I look forward to future episodes.”Read full review »

“Jason does it again. Jason puts on a superb podcast. Very informative, insightful, and, yes, there is always time for a few infamous Jason Rants in there!”
