Home Front
Being a short drama, this can seem like a soap opera at times but if listened to from the beginning of the war, a flavour of what it might have been like during World War 1 for those still at home could be had. (The excellent Tommies gives an idea what it was like at the front.) But it can only be a flavour. Forgive it’s soap-like qualities and take in the lives of the people of Folkestone and Tynemouth. The episodes commemorating the Gotha raids of Folkestone in May 1917 were especially good.

Do yourself a favor and just listen to this radio drama. The sound production values are as high as they get and it’s filled with great very expressive voice actors.
