Paul I have been a podcast listener from way back like around 2010 or something. Love to listen while I drive or ride. I have only now started to try my hand at growing (2021). Been working on planting as many different fruit and nut trees on my property as I can. Up to 20 trees with two of...Read full review »

Brilliant show! You get to learn so much on here, valuable info and tips!

Paul’s podcast may appear a little esoteric. That’s because he’s talking about a subject he’s passionate about - permaculture. Permaculture is also a hard subject to get your head around. The fasts way to get that knowledge is listening to these podcasts and heading over to his website, which is...Read full review »

Paul Wheaton is not for everybody, and that’s OK. For one, the dude curses. A fair amount. (There’s a reason it’s marked “explicit.”) Next the things he proposes are pretty far from the mainstream. Probably past your comfort level. I like listening to this podcast because it’s about building a...Read full review »

I’m thoroughly enjoying the review of the book ... I just got my copy in the mail so I’ll have to catchup 😀

Having met Paul in person and spent 2 weeks at Wheaton Labs in 2019, I understand that Paul is truly a character and not for everyone. (Who is? Jesus had His haters too!) That being said, his experience and passion about making a better world and experimenting with making life better for those...Read full review »

Sadly Paul has a potty mouth and he lacks the ability to form words without cussing. There’s a lot of other promo culture podcast out there that are a greater value to me.

I love the Permies website and so many of your podcasts. I am so grateful for everything you do and put out in the world. But I tried just now to listen to the newest podcast - your discussion about the movie “gather.” But Paul you don’t let anybody else talk. I listened to up until the 10...Read full review »

Thanks, Paul, for being a pioneer and leader in the journey of experimentation. We may not have it all together, but together we can have it all!

I love getting to be a fly on the wall as I listen to conversations about life at Wheaton Labs and how everything is evolving. I hope I can visit one day! I do wish there was a little more teaching concepts of design than updates, but that’s just a selfish want. You still can infer information...Read full review »

Paul has a lot of great ideas. He can be polarizing but he always make you think. He has many new ideas. Good stuff

UPDATE - for a while now most of the episodes have been all about their mission and not about home scale permaculture or, most importantly, building soil and growing plants. So I’ve been skipping more than I’ve been listening. ——- I listen to about 4 four hours of podcasts a day on...Read full review »

I've listened to four of these podcasts now and all I can say is this guy probably thinks he's too good for your ears. On top of that, you probably owe him something and you need to pay up. There are so many good podcasts on permaculture and homesteading out there, don't waste your...Read full review »

Man, this guy could give his listeners such a good show... he just knows his followers will listen no matter how crappy a podcast he puts out! Lousy sound quality just makes it painful to listen to, and then he insists on recording in the car, or when he is on the toilet... who knows. Just painful.

I thought the podcast was okay. I would occasionally find some of the info very interesting or helpful. I was turned off by a recent episode when Paul referred to people who favor the exclusive use of native plants as "plant bigots." I don't even group myself into that category but...Read full review »

I listen to a lot of podcasts: gardening, finance, skill-building, and sermons. Paul Wheaton's podcasts are the first ones I find when I have a chance to listen. Searched out your podcast after listening to you on TSP. Love what you are doing with the 'laboratory' and I enjoy hearing all about it. Wish you wouldn't use the F-word so often. Paul has a talent for finding a lot of resources on interesting strategies and techniques. He also has a talent for being a little too egotistical and critical rather than supportive or encouraging. I value the people he interviews but take his word with a grain of salt.

It's hard to listen to his long tiring tirades sometimes. I have been following for some time and I have gotten to the point that I listen to only maybe 10% of the shows. I wasn't going to write a review, but then I saw that he chose to call this a science podcast, so lets apply some science. This podcast has a lot of cool ideas in it. I tried giving this guy a chance, thinking he would improve, but he rambles or should I say, rants on and on but never actually talks about anything relevant. I actually listened to about eight or ten casts. I started thinking of him as the Glenn Beck of permaculture.

We really need someone with Paul's gumption to shoot down those who insist that you must be in poverty, barely scraping by, to do well by the earth.
