“I really, really want to like this podcast. It’s a great concept. I love Dave Holmes and - normally - he’s a great interviewer. He seems a bit off his game since the pandemic - awkward pauses, lack of research and a general disengagement - but part of that I liken to his weird chemistry with Matt (“Are you talking first?”) and not being in the same room. Matt has the same energy as Dave - sedate - but lacks the same pop cultural knowledge. Ultimately it feels like two really chill people interviewing someone but with the lack of research, insightful questions and awkward pauses, that comes across as boring vs. entertaining.”
