It feels like a parody
The narrator has this very serious tone as if she’s talking about a heinous crime. But then - gasp- it’s about a man accused of having sex with a dolphin. (Huh?) This sounds like an SNL skit making fun of podcasts. However the production value is great, sound effects and music. It’s just kind of a ridiculous story, and the interviewees are mostly fisherman and locals in a small north England town with thick accents- I couldn’t understand what half of they were saying. The first episode dragged on so long with all this build up. After listening to episode 1 I don’t think I’ll continue. Especially after reading some of the other reviews.

Why is the script written as though listeners are children??

Why was this podcast narrated by what sounds like a children’s author? Awful! I was interested to listen to the story, but had to stop as the dreadful storytelling, patronising tone and childlike intonation kept throwing me off.

This is a story of so many layers. It was so captivating and incredibly real. I loved listening to it. I was transported on a journey of wonder, sadness and disbelief. So well told given the sensitivities involved. Just brilliant!
