Spotlight on the Atlanta comedy scene!
I've been onto Hot Breath since way back in the Soundcloud days, so you can trust my opinion. Joel is a solid host who knows how to let his guests talent shine. He throws in a joke or two and moves the conversation along professionally and without seeming pushy, which is a sign of being prepared as well as having a natural talent for hosting. I think this show is important for Atlanta comedy as a whole because it points out the need for our city to provide an enviroment for these talented comedians to stay here and produce, rather than leave for the coasts. However, Byars stresses this need without being judgmental. He knows how the industry works, but he clearly loves his hometown scene and wants it to continue to thrive. I think smaller markets need more podcasts like this: Cleveland, Pittsburg, Houston, and many other cities have great scenes that too often lose their brightest stars to New York and Los Angeles. Hopefully this show will help shine a light on Atlanta Comedy and more comics will want to stay home and build an industry here.Read full review »

The interviews start about five minutes into each episode and are usually very interesting. Check out episode 84 for a particularly good interview. There are very few good comedy podcasts and this is one of the few.
