Really Poor Storytelling & Production
I applaud the effort I guess, but this reporter needs a little more experience and some writing workshops. Much of the VO pieces simply try too hard to be poignant. Her interview tactics are amateur at best and she lacks any real journalistic voice. What’s your focus statement? Where are the interviews from anyone not closely associated with the family? On top of the deficiency in storytelling, this podcast is very poorly produced. Not only are many sentences cut off by edits leaving the listener confused, but many of the actual editing choices are just bizarre. In the interview with Kesse’s friend who works at NASA, why on earth did you leave in your own leading questions? It reveals your own bias and is just recorded evidence of you conducting interviews to elicit responses that square with your already formed opinion. Finally, this podcast reveals no new information and it offers no insight whatsoever that may shed light on the case or help any investigator acquire new or useful information. The episodes are also extremely short and don’t allow enough time for any kind of thorough reporting or content of real substance. It’s a shame because Kesse’s family deserves better.

I am hooked on this true crime podcast! Cristina Corbin really draws you in and is such a pleasure to listen to. This is a sad and fascinating story told by a pro.

She asks thoughtful questions of her subjects and has...Read full review »
