I really loved the way Cristina C. told the story, she did amazing at helping the audience to really understand Jennifer, and her family. Also the different angles and opinions in the case. Great story.

The people on here saying this is racist are insane. I am halfway through with this show at the moment and I am so confused as why people think it’s racist. I like this podcast.

Yes, Jennifer’s family speaks negatively of the maintenance workers and refers to them as illegal immigrates. You can A) take this as them being racist or B) realize they are a grieving family whose daughter was most likely murdered by an undocumented worker. Furthermore the workers being...Read full review »

If you honestly think that it’s racist to call undocumented citizen an undocumented citizen then you’re an idiot...hope that offends you too. This podcast is very good. Well researched and the overall layout is done very well. It’s not racist at all. It’s about Jennifer and what happened to...Read full review »

I didn’t get through the first episode. I guess I shouldn’t have expected anything but race bating from a FOX podcast. You people are the problem!! Gross

Constantly engage your loved ones to lift them, and hug them everyday like you’ll never see them again.

This case is sad but her family have some serious issues with race and elitist attitudes. Her dad in particular seems to think his family is so much better than the rest of the population and this kind of crime is beneath him. Her family gets in the way of the sympathy one might feel for her.

I love true crime podcasts and gave this one a try despite the comments about it being racist. Unfortunately, I agree with those comments. Didn’t get through the first episode after hearing the interview with her father and then her brother. I understand that racism is a reality but the...Read full review »

Meh
I’m thrilled that Jennifer’s story is being told and I enjoyed the format of the podcast. The issue of racism is definitely at play, however. It’s one thing to be fearful of the maintenance team because of their behavior, but the podcast frames it that it’s because they are Mexican and/or...Read full review »

I’ve listened to other podcasts regarding this case, but none as informative as this one. I love this young lady’s voice and the respect she shows the family. Looking forward to more podcasts such as this one.

I wanted to like this podcast. The story needs to be told. However I have to agree with other reviewers about racist and classist comments and undertones. When I got to episode 8 I decided to stop listening. There should be better editing to take some of the racist and classist comments out in my...Read full review »

This podcast is really well done and an interesting case to learn about. I did not find it racist and am a pretty moderate-liberal politically person. Once again (actually more than once) someone with freedom has a beef with the broadcast. You are free to discontinuing listening to this podcast, if words offend you. You earn no points in this forum by professing righteous indignation. Those who choose to lean on the crutch of “racism” are...Read full review »

We lived in Orlando at the time. Still to this day hurts my heart when I think of it or see her posters - which, by the way, can still be seen around town. Best quality posters ever made. SO shocking and sad. I hope I live to see the person caught and convicted. Hug your children each chance...Read full review »

It was good story and I loved that I have never heard about it before. What I didn’t appreciate was the ads taking digs at my political party. I get it, it’s a Fox News owned podcast but for a investigative crime podcast, keep politics out of it.

When all the reviews are either 1 or 5 stars and it’s because of racism/classism, I think it’s very telling the 5 star reviews state that it wasn’t racists and that racism is a 2020 pop culture term. The people in the podcast were racist and racism didn’t just appear in 2020. But regardless,...Read full review »

Do NOT listen to this podcast. The same facts of the case are repeated over and over in many episodes. An interesting case, nonetheless. Also, I did not pick up on any racist undertone in this podcast. I think that suggestion is ridiculous. All in all, worth a listen.

As a fan of true crime podcasts, I thought I’d give this one a try. The number of racist and classist comments and insinuations is totally off-putting. I’ve binged 5 episodes in one day and am looking forward to listening to more. This podcast is absolutely NOT racist. People are far too sensitive these days. I’m truly sorry for the family, and to Jennifer especially. But I have to say that the brother comes across as a giant frat boy silver spoon in the mouth duche!!! Just because someone has brown skin, and doesn’t speak English doesn’t make them a criminal!!!

This first episode is a turn off, given the racist tone. NOT surprising coming from Fox News. From the beginning, her father recalls their family’s nervousness at the scary “workers” who only had to say “one word” to her and they’d take care of them.
