I love Vanessa & Jonah, but not the Movie Reviews
I love this show for the most part, but the movie review episodes are truly awful. They are in a very self-righteous, cancel culture-esque tone (read: not funny) because the hosts have the benefit of looking at them in the present after several decades of social change. The Farrelly Brothers movies were shocking when they came out and definitely didn't age well in political correctness: you are not Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to point this out. It feels very high horse in tone and ruins the podcast's fun for me. As a comedian herself, I would have hoped Vanessa wouldn't be so judgmental of past comedy knowing it rarely ages well. Please no more movie reviews unless it's in a more: 'so bad that it's amazing' tone (the How Did This Get Made? podcast gets this right). Otherwise, the show is good and the interviews are enjoyable.Read full review »

I’m a couple years older than Jonah and can relate to all the nostalgic memories that are brought up from Book-It (which was a...Read full review »
