Have thoroughly enjoyed the podcast! These episodes bring to light that magic truly is an art form. Great stories as well. Love the Teller episode, magic in prison and the Holocaust episodes so much.

This is so much more than about magicians and their thinking! It is about that, but I will leave it to you to discover the so many other levels of wisdom in this podcast. Thanks Joshua Jay!

Recently discovered Joshua Jay’s book, and accompanying podcast “How Magicians Think.” He has great insight and communicates well. As a lifelong fan of magic, he “speaks” to me.

Insightful and entertaining. I am inspired to revisit my childhood interest in learning magic ♥️ Editing to add: I just ordered the Magical Mail Box for my niece from the vanishing Ink website a really amazing interactive gift and so affordable!

This is a truly fantastic podcast. Each episode offers something different, yet all are totally inspiring. My only gripe is the episodes are too short. I could’ve listened to Juan Tamariz for hours! Thanks for making these available.

I really enjoyed the content and just finished Josh’s book, How Magicians Think. The book was a definite 5 star but I continuously found myself distracted by the constant background music in the podcast. I think background music is good at the beginning and the end but having it going throughout...Read full review »

It’s really great to see how magic can bring hope to the hopeless. I love hearing how magic can bring out the best in people, no matter what their past was. Really great stories!

Spoiler. I’m not a huge magic fan. But this looked interesting and I was bored. Well, wow! Turns out, Jay is an excellent storyteller. Really excited to hear what comes next.

This inspired me. One of the most creative magicians I know of, challenged by the question “have you ever changed someone’s life?” The first episode of him talking to men he has taught magic to while they were in prison reveals what a difference someone can make with genuine curiosity and care...Read full review »

Joshua Jay is a brilliant performer and this podcast goes far beyond just magic. He talks to prisoners who perform magic behind bars as well as a Holocaust survivor who survived Auschwitz by teaching himself to do card tricks. It’s absolutely riveting stuff and Joshua Jay is a great host.
