Thanks for being there!
Hello, Ladies. My husband and I are moving from a house that we've lived in for 29 1/2 years; our three sons grew up here and we have lots of happy memories. We are downsizing now, about which we feel a tad sentimental but also excited. We are moving to a townhouse, all one one floor, with one bedroom wall adjoing the neighbor's garage wall. The style of the interior is what I'd call classic modern, which may be an oxymoron? Anyway, some of the walls are upholstered in beautiful silk fabric; the study/library has upholstered brocade walls alongside almost-full walls of built-in bookshelves. Anya Larkin wallpaper is used in guest bedroom and bathrooms. We both really like the place, as it seems quirky and something we can move into right away. Our furniture/style is probably traditional/country; and the traditional part seems to fit with the classic of the townhouse. However, there is one wall in the living room that is pretty tricky: when you walk in the front door, straight ahead is a wall with clerestory window only at the top. The left side of the wall has a mirrored hutch built-in...that's what is puzzling us. We probably will decide to have it filled in, but it is not unpleasing to us to start. Do you have any ideas for what we could do with that? Regarding the podcast: I have always enjoyed the Ballard Designs Catalog, and I have ordered several items over the years, although nothing major. I began looking at design magazines and books over the past two months for ideas on what to do with our new-to-us space. The most recent catalog mentions the podcast; so I thought I'd give it a try. What I've heard so far has left me feeling like I'm sitting with friends, albeit friends who are interior designers and younger. What I've been pleasantly surprised about is that the show is not offputting; that is, as I'm not a designer I thought that I might feel intimidated by the discussion or uninterested in the topics. However, I've instead found that the hosts are warm, funny, and down-to-earth. Their guests have been charming and helpful, as well. So, this imminent move has led me to the podcast and I am definitely pleased. I will continue listening and will share with friends. Thank you to you all and to Ballard Designs for offering your time and expertise. Sincerely, Pat CrittendenRead full review »

I enjoy your podcast immensely! I thoroughly enjoyed the Architecture Landscape podcast. Please make those two gentlemen continued guests, especially, around Springtime. Also, it would be nice to have a podcast devoted to Q's and A's. And, maybe a DIYer ? Thanks again ! Keep up the...Read full review »

Redundant phrases that will grate on your nerves such as”i feel like this....” or “it’s so fun”. Very little substance for a large organization like Ballard. The designers they interview are interesting. Unfortunately these ladies who interview the designers have some low level design ideas that...Read full review »

I love this podcast! I’ve listened since the very beginning and now feel like I’m chatting with old friends when I listen to it. Super glad we get a weekly episode this year!
