For the decorators not the designers
Was super excited to have some white noise while I worked on household/shop upgrading. While potentially being entertained from people in the industry (and I also grew up in the deepest of the south, Fairhope, AL) I was quite turned off by the lack of sensitivity to the hosts animals, husbands, and other families/friends. Their design advice, while somewhat interesting was abruptly halted from a listeners prospective when Ballard design was undermined as well as some of the hosts throwing others under the bus. All in all, if I were one to sit around and enjoy using the word decorator and/or have time to introduce me to a team where two of the girls made fun of the other woman and I would love to give multiple minutes of my week towards this. I enjoy Ballard design for certain projects and think that the ladies that have been giving/earned the opportunity to host this podcast should seriously review who and what they talk about, keep those they talk about in the best light possible, never speak ill of someone, not talk about how much wine they are drinking, not talk about how much they hate their pets, or seemingly rat each other out on every daily life. Whether a podcast, a TV show or real time in front of your clients, this first episode is something that I would be embarrassed to see any of clients see or my staff conduct. I hope that the locker room talk and attitude of where the podcast "candidness" is realized and understood that it doesn't mean "locker room talk" is what is perceived by most, unlike myself.Read full review »

As both a lover of design and podcasts, I was skeptical about the visual medium of interior design translating well into an audio podcast. The ladies (and gentlemen) who host/appear on this podcast do a great job though and I love hearing their thoughts on what's new or fascinating in home...Read full review »

I really enjoy this podcast. The best episodes are the ones in which the hosts elicit practical design advice for listeners, i.e., Ann and Elizabeth Pyne discussing the difference amongst natural rugs, Kevin Isbell describing why accent walls are so bad, Miles Redd telling us to buy empire shades...Read full review »
