In this episode, Martín is joined by Daniel Hernández Jr. Daniel is a first-generation college student who interned for then-Congresswoman Gabby Giffords and was the first to administer first aid to her on the day of the tragic attack on her life. Inspired by Congresswoman Giffords' commitment to public service, he went on to be elected to his local school board and became the youngest school board president in the district's history. Starting in 2017, Daniel served in the Arizona State House as one of the youngest members ever elected. In his current role, he serves as the Associate Executive Director at Stand for Children in Arizona. In this episode, Martín and Daniel discuss his career path, commitment to public service, and how to advocate for yourself in office as a young elected official.
