“Understanding that the world has had land stewards for 1000s of years seems obvious once it is explained. Hearing of the devastation to our beloved Sequoias is heartbreaking. I hope the replanting and the stewardship of these nearly decimated groves continues unhindered. I would bet a lot of money that Aldo Leopold would want the same. Please, Wilderness Society, understand that his definition of wilderness did not have all the information we have now. Be flexible. Be good stewards. Plant as many sequoia seeds as we can. Only a few will make it to maturity. And you know the best time to plant a tree: 100 years ago. Let’s be good stewards for those in 2124.”
