fantastic
I've been listening to How Sound (formerly Saltcast) ever since I was lucky enough to take a class with Rob Rosenthal in Maine. I can't imagine having a better teacher, and I've just been able to extend my learning by listening to this show. Even if you aren't interested in making your own audio pieces, Rosenthal exposes you to all sorts of pieces that you might not otherwise have found your way to. He plays projects of former students and clips from the masters. Highly recommended for fans of Radio Lab, This American Life, Radiotopia shows, etc.Read full review »

Thanks Rob! I appreciate the education and the exposure to a diverse cornucopia of stories that I would not hear if it was not for you and this podcast. You inspire me!

I'm a photographer teaching a class that has a small documentary video component, and Rob's podcasts really help me in teaching my students about sound.Read full review »

I was a big fan of SaltCast before the name change and this first episode proves nothing has been lost in the transition. How Sound is perfect for anyone trying to learn how to make radio, or anyone who just loves great public radio pieces and wants to peek behind the scenes. Highly recommended.
