“I’m barely through episode 1 and I’ve had to stop listening, since the sound is all over the place. People being interviewed will speak softly or at varying volumes, and then the host will come in with a much louder voice that has a lot of bass. On top of that, the first few interviewees have moderate accents, making it even more difficult to understand what was being discussed. After spending 20 minutes adjusting my volume back and forth and even trying to turn down the bass in my car, I gave up. (And to be clear, I’m a young person without any hearing impairments.)
Not sure what happened with this podcast’s production, but it seems like they never thought about what it might be like to listen to this without headphones. Considering how many people listen to podcasts in their car or on their commute, it feels like a major oversight.”
