The John Peel of Weird Fiction
Jim Moon is precisely that. In his breadth of knowledge, in his extraordinary good takes, in the often wry humour but above all in his passion for the more eldritch end of geek culture. There is also the voice. Fireside is an adjective that springs to mind, avuncular also. In its reasoned, always well-researched yet entertaining way, Jim manages to be the opposite of most (excitable, cynical) internet commentary. I can't recommend Hypnobobs highly enough.
