So close to being so good!!
This podcast was so addictive and I loved many parts of it. Like other reviewers have mentioned though, I feel it didn’t do any real work to explore other plausible scientific explanations for the phenomena it explored! In 2024 we finally understand exactly how little we understand about the human body, the immune system, the microbiome, the autonomic nervous system, etc. For example, as we learned quickly with COVID (and many who have chronic illnesses already knew), PANDAS is far from the only mysterious post-infectious syndrome that exists! I am also so surprised that this podcast didn’t cover the well publicized phenomenon of young people developing tic disorders after watching those with tics on TikTok. This podcast did a great job of exploring some ideas, but unfortunately I feel that it did contribute - and also did nothing to acknowledge - the relentless medical gaslighting that SO many people (especially women) experience.

Quite often I found myself giving outbursts of “come on, get in with it!”
