“I’ve avoided the solo Beatles albums for reasons I can’t explain. I didn’t want to hear them and wasn’t bothered to explore them. I started listening to Chris talk with guests about Beatles albums I had and I liked the familiarity and understood what they were saying in response to the music and the times. When the episodes were about individual albums I was on shakier ground. I didn’t know the albums and assumed they’d be rubbish. However, and this has surprised me, the guests interviewed by Chris have actually made me want to listen the albums. I’m now a big fan of Ram, All Things Must Pass, Imagine, Flaming Pie and Band on the Run. A few George LPs I’m still struggling with 331/3 and as for Ringo, I can’t last 45 minutes of his voice on one LP. A great podcast that has made me reevaluate my feelings about albums I’d given a miss too. The interviews are always interesting.”
