Great podcast great perspective from two former therapists and theater school survivors to melt these fields to finally speak their truth. I am the sick patient Gina trashes in the Josh Sobel episode. Bravo to Gina for using my suffering as a soundbite for her self-promotion!! Her story has...Read full review »

Thanks to Gina and Jen for sticking their toes in these murky waters. I am not sure what gave them the courage to start exploring this time period and include friends and acquaintances who went through the same process, some with them, some without, but they saw the need that we all now know was...Read full review »

What a fun show to listen to and to have communion with other theatre folx. So many of us survived, thrived or crashed after school, and hearing tales of everyone’s experience brings such humanity to the process. Jen and Gina are delightful and treat each guest with such grace. Highly recommend.:)

Loving listening to this podcast as it leads me down memory lane, I’m also able to reflect on my own time spent at Theatre School and what it meant to me and how it shaped me into who I am today. Gina and Jen are fantastic hosts, very welcoming with thoughtful questions!

Just finished listening to y’all interview my son Syler. Y’all did an amazing job! I’ve known him for 47 years, and I learned so much about him. I never thought for a minute that he’d be bullied at Theater School (not MY Syler), but it was a real relief to know it didn’t happen. Something he...Read full review »

This is a fascinating look into the world of theatre schools and conservatories. I went to theatre school and it all rings so true. If anyone is thinking of going to, has been to, or has ever had any interest in theatre school - this is for you. I laugh and learn every time.

My experience and degree is more in tech and design but the theater experience is pretty universal on both sides of the stage. I’m really enjoying the conversations. I look forward to the new one as soon as I finish.

I started listening to these because I too survived Theatre School, thinking I would listen to one or two and move on. I now DEVOUR them. Helping me process my experience as well as just enjoying the stories and taking walks down memory lane.

“I Survived Theatre School” podcasts connect the dots between the experience of theatre school and life after the dirty deed. No straight lines here, but rather scenic routes, so slow down and pay attention. They contain circuitous beauty you don’t want to miss.

So after two years I dropped out of theatre school, but I wouldn’t say I didn’t survive, I just went a different way. I am so glad to have found this and am so enjoying listening to old friends/former classmates. 5 stars!

Love the behind the scenes look at theatre, career choices, and the whole maturation in career process. Great job Jen and Gina. Should I disclose now that Gina’s my daughter and I helped pay for theatre school? You go girls!

Talking about theatre school is probably one of the things I do the least, but hearing other people discuss their journeys is something I didn’t realize I would enjoy as much as I did. Great getting to the know their guest as well. Looking forward to more
