They're just making things up
This project is a total waste. Not worth your time or anyone else's. I was excited to do some deep dives into older albums, but it took 10 minutes of listening to realize that these podcasters don't actually care about facts--they're just riffing with no actual effort into checking that what they are saying is true. Don't believe me? They start with "When U Were Mine" and say it's one of Lauper's record-setting four Top 5 (US) singles from this album. That song wasn't even released as a single anywhere but Canada, where it didn't even come close to the Top 40. They then give Lauper songwriting credit for "Girls Just Want to Have Fun." It's a cover. They do the same with "All Through the Night." Also a cover. And Lauper didn't direct any of her videos until a decade after this album. Why listen to people tell you falsehoods that they could have avoided with literally 10 seconds of research? This is slapdash junk content.Read full review »
