“Idle Weekend is more than an Idle Thumbs offshoot (though I will admit that I was super-stoked to hear that Danielle would still be doing Thumbs-related podcasting after leaving the main show)--it's a fun alternative/companion to other gaming podcasts that have a more weekly-news-related focus. Although new games and gaming news do occasionally come up, the bulk of each IW episode consists of a weekly discussion topic that often leads the hosts to look back to old favourites or things they missed on release. I'm not always personally invested in the topic (or the specific games) at hand on a given week, but I always enjoy listening to Danielle and Rob share their experiences and engage in the occasional friendly debate. It really is like listening in on a conversation between friends, and I love it!
P.S. Thanks, you two, for making me finally go back into my backlog and play The Witcher 3. I'm now dozens of hours into that gaming abyss and I'm completely addicted to Gwent.”
