I don't think I've ever heard a (mostly) gaming related podcast that I'd describe as warm before, but that description perfectly suits Idle Weekend. The show has a very low key, comfortable or even cozy vibe that brings to mind good conversations I've had with my own friends....Read full review »

I don't know when but at some point this show switched permanently to themed episodes in a main topic of discussion and that's been a fantastic format ever since.Keep up the good work!

Danielle is one of my favorite podcast hosts ever!

A video game podcast mostly with a little movie, pop culture thrown in. Comprised of ex Idle Thumb member and I believe a member of the Shall We Play A Game podcast. Just wonderful, especially if you've played games all of your life. Cyberpunk Dystopic fun.Read full review »

They do sometimes talk about video games, but mostly they talk about social justice stuff. Danielle knows Nintendo and indy games, and Rob takes care of everything else.

Great discussion on video game industry related topics.

Only been listening for a few weeks but so far I've learnt Danielle is a Wii U apologist and Zelda fan so I'm hooked, but for others Rob loves Napoleon and war games and lore. AND they have dynamite chemistry. Keep it coming guys!

Two kind of awkward speakers who talk like this. Hi, I'm asking a question? in the middle of a sentence? but now I'm talking really quietly so you know my point is important and also here's a little political jab because I'm pretty sure you haven't heard enough about politics...Read full review »

Idle Weekend had been recomended very highly and I tried to get on with it, sadly the sound quality lets it down.

This is hands down my favourite podcast to listen when I'm stuck in the car on my way to and from work. R&D have such a warm conversational tone to their episodes that I feel like I'm listening to friends I've known my entire life. The only problem is figuring out how I will ever afford all the...Read full review »

I like this podcast, as it is diverse and also covers interesting topics that are discussed in a adult manner. Nice change from the juvenile gaming podcasts, that are out there.

This is one of my favourite gaming podcasts. Danielle and Rob are so insightful! Every weekend they have a chill, but super in-depth conversation about games and the gaming industry. I feel smarter after listening.

Two insufferable pseudo-intellectual social justice warriors host a podcast about lesbianism masquerading as a gaming show. This is probably the reason for the decline of 3MA. Interesting listening only to see if the hosts can break their own world record for using the word "like" every...Read full review »

Idle Weekend is more than an Idle Thumbs offshoot (though I will admit that I was super-stoked to hear that Danielle would still be doing Thumbs-related podcasting after leaving the main show)--it's a fun alternative/companion to other gaming podcasts that have a more weekly-news-related focus....Read full review »

I really want to like Idle Weekend. I alway enjoy Rob Zachny's podcasts. He's thoughtful, speaks well, and always makes it clear that he's expressing his opinion, not handing down tables from Mt. Sinai. I particularly like that he tends to be a bit of a contrarian and can gently...Read full review »

Danielle Riendeau was a bright spot in the Idle Thumbs podcast, and it was sad to see her go. She provided a grounded counterbalance to the often insane ramblings of the Thumbs' crew. So, how pleased am I that she's heading up a new podcast, and only sharing the limelight with one other...Read full review »

Danielle and Rob are such nice company. Both are enthusiastic as schoolkids about games, but can also offer deep psychological insights into gaming culure, geekism and entertainment at large. Best listened to with your feet up, and a nice warm mug of coffee. And maybe a biscuit or two !

I have been with this podcast since it began and I have enjoyed my time with it for the most part. I was sad when Danielle Riendeau left Idle Thumbs, but she has great chemistry with her old friend (and Idle Network triple threat) Rob Zacny.
