Lacks Respect for Diverse Voices
For a podcast meant for "non-traditional" families, its shockingly not affirming of the LGBT community. It tells one story well: affluent cis lesbians having babies. It is not sensitive to the other voices and families in our community. I was glad for the recent episode featuring a nonbinary parent, which felt like a step in the right direction to make the podcast inclusive of different voices. The guests' story was amazing, but the host tried to deadname the guest, asked about bottom surgery, and said offensive things about trans women. It wasn't funny; it was just disrespectful. If they had done their research and read literally ANYTHING about trans folks they would know not to do that. This podcast gives voice to a particular kind of two-mom family, but if you're looking for respectful representation of diverse queer families, I'd look elsewhere.Read full review »

Heard both the gender show and the response after. I appreciate their mea culpa. Has to be space to let people learn.
