Any Horizon fans hoping to see a sequel to Zero Dawn and Forbidden West may be in for a letdown, as industry insider and Bloomberg reporter Jason Schrier claims Guerilla Games’ next project is a live-service online multiplayer game set in the Horizon universe. A third mainline seems likely, but it’s apparently “a ways off.” In other news, also reported by Jason Schrier, Netflix has original shows in development based on Starcraft, Diablo and Overwatch, but they were scrapped after Netflix pursued legal action against Activision-Blizzard over allegedly poaching its CFO. Considering how gorgeous Blizzard’s cinematic cutscenes have always been, it seems like a missed opportunity, but maybe we’ll see these IPs get adapted somewhere else. Prime Video’s Secret Level, maybe? Finally, Tekken chief Katsuhiro Harada revealed in an interview that he’d tried to get KFC to agree to put founder-turned-mascot Colonel Sanders in the fighting game as a playable character, but didn’t have any luck. But, we’ve gotten a KFC dating sim starring the Colonel since then, so who knows?
