Lachlan consistently knocks it out of the park with this podcast. Deep context and compelling writing. The episodes are long but extremely well-paced, loaded with primary sources. Lachlan strikes just the right balance of social, intellectual, and political history. Along with Fall of Civilizations this is the best of the new wave of long-form history podcasts.

You are doing such a fantastic job, well done. The depth of your research and deep interest in the topic makes this one of the best topical podcasts I have come across so far. I may have to cite this podcast in my research paper on the economic legacy of the Khmer Rouge period. :)

The depth and detail of this podcast is only comparable to some of Dan Carlin’s work. The topic is compelling. For a critical piece of modern history that is generally ignored or misunderstood, it is incredibly well researched and presented.
