too scattered
This is a podcast with a lot of potential but unless they make a big course correction I don’t see that potential being realized. Right now they’re two smart people, both capable of being very interesting individually, but so far not in conversation with each other- slthough they clearly think they are. For example, I Just listened to the Eliana’s vindication episode . It's frustrating and annoying to listen to them introduce one story after the next without ever finishing any of them, or finishing them in a way that leaves out too much of what was needed to have made the story a good or even intelligible story. Instead of a satisfying story what you get is 10 different sidetracks and then the introduction to the next story. The sidetracks are mainly the result of them constantly interrupting each other to no purpose. Most of the interruptions seem to be motivated by their belief that anything that will come out of their mouth will be so interesting, merely because it came out if their mouth, that is has to be said right away. I think there’s could be a very good podcast. I hope that they will listen to the Eliana’s Vindicationn episode and think how they might make changes going forward.Read full review »

I like the fact that they give credit where it is due as well as call bull$h*t where that is warranted.

Entertaining or informative? This is both—thoughtful analysis leavened with humor and occasional mockery where warranted. If you’re of a certain age where Friday night debauchery is passé, the Wretches are a fine and dare I say more delightful alternative. And darn if they don’t make you think, too.
